The Theatre on Nations is the only place in Moscow that joins together all the top international trends in the performing arts. One of the main objectives of the theatre is inviting the most recognized stage directors from different countries. Only at the Theatre of Nations it is possible to see performances by Robert Lepage (Canade), Robert Wilson (USA), Thomas Ostermeier (Germany) Alvis Hermanis (Latvia), Eimuntas Nekrosius (Lithuania), and by other international and Russian maestros of stage within a single month.

The Theatre of Nations occupies a building constructed 130 years ago to house the first and largest privately owned drama theatre in Russia. This was the very place where Konstantin Stanislavsky and Anton Chekhov first made the acquaintance.

Artistic director - honoured artist of Russia Evgeny Mironov.
